Busy private cardiology practice in need of a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse to join a our high quality healthcare team in a clinical setting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Current, active, full and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse and graduate of a nursing program approved by the National League for Nursing Accrediting commission (NLNAC) or the commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited School of Nursing required. BLS & ACLS required. Epic experience preferred.
MAJOR DUTIES:
The RN is a member of the interdisciplinary team within the program of care as well as within the leadership structure of nursing. The focus of this role is management and coordination of a comprehensive and holistic view of patient care to include assessment of patients and families to anticipate risks, design and implement plans of care, provide oversight of the care delivery, improve outcomes and assure quality of care for patients. This role is responsible for assuring that practice is based on the most recent and valid research evidence, providing coordination and communication with interdisciplinary team members to affect improved patient outcomes for our patient population.
PHONE TRIAGE:
The RN will be responsible to answer patient questions
Assess the situation; contact the provider immediately if deemed an urgent situation
If not an urgent situation, assist as able, confer with provider as needed, and call patient back with provider recommendations
Assist in completing prescription refill requests (via fax, phone or EHR)
Obtain prior authorization if required
IN BASKET:
The RN will work through the clinical in-basket messages, and results.
Call patients with test results and physician recommendations
Work with office scheduler if patient needs an immediate appointment to discuss abnormal test results per physician request
Enter order(s) and assign tasks to appropriate staff for any future testing or procedures recommended by physician
CALL BACKS:
Call patients with test results and physician recommendations

Scan results into patient chart, attach to order and close order
Enter order(s) and assign tasks to appropriate staff for any future testing or procedures recommended by physician
OFFICE DAYS:
Assist in rooming patients, if needed, according to schedule
Assist physician during office visits by starting notes, entering orders, ensuring proper testing and follow-up appointments are scheduled. Nurses and Medical Assistants will be required to attend to Nursing visits. These will include checking the nurse schedule and assisting patients as needed during these visits. Nursing visits consist of blood pressure checks, monitors, and injections.
PATIENT CARE:
Complete Cardiac Rehab, and other outpatient referrals
Complete FMLA and Disability Papers with 7 business days of receipt
OTHER:
Review and delegate all MA, LPN job responsibilities
Work with OSHA Safety Officer to maintain compliance within the clinical areas
Comply with all office OSHA and HIPAA Policies and Procedures
