Currently, we are seeking a dedicated Surgical First Assistant with expertise in plastics to join our team.
Position Overview: As a Surgical First Assistant specializing in plastics, you will play a pivotal role in the operating room, working closely with surgeons to ensure optimal patient care and surgical outcomes. Your expertise in plastic surgical procedures will be instrumental in assisting during surgeries, providing support, and maintaining a sterile surgical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist Surgeons: Collaborate closely with plastic surgeons before, during, and after surgeries, anticipating their needs and providing assistance as required.
Surgical Preparation: Prepare the operating room and surgical equipment, ensuring everything is sterile and ready for the procedure.
Patient Care: Assist in positioning and prepping patients for surgery, providing comfort and reassurance throughout the process.
Instrumentation: Hand instruments and supplies to the surgeon during procedures, maintaining an organized and efficient workflow.
Surgical Technique: Demonstrate expertise in assisting with a variety of plastic surgical procedures, including but not limited to reconstructive surgeries, cosmetic procedures, and microsurgery.
Suture and Closure: Assist with wound closure by suturing and applying dressings under the direction of the surgeon.
Post-operative Care: Aid in transferring patients to post-anesthesia care units (PACUs) or other recovery areas, monitoring vital signs and assisting with post-operative care as needed.
Documentation: Accurately document surgical procedures, including pre-operative assessments, intraoperative events, and post-operative notes.
Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other members of the surgical team, including nurses, anesthesiologists, and surgical technicians, to ensure seamless coordination and communication.
