We are seeking an energetic, loving and experienced Teacher to join our team! At First Southern Christian School we are a family working together to serve the children and their families and support one another.
As a teacher, you will lead a class of students through a successful school year, implementing a comprehensive educational curriculum. Your goal is to create a welcoming learning environment and provide students with the tools they need to become a well rounded student. The ideal candidate is compassionate, creative, and has a heart for serving!

Responsibilities:

Encourage the development of students’ critical thinking skills
Create weekly lesson plans
- Prepare any necessary learning materials
Assign homework
Take attendance
Grade assignments and provide feedback
Document students’ learning progress
Collaborate with other teachers and school personnel to create a healthy and safe learning environment
- Establish a classroom environment that is conducive to learning
Report and document behavioral incidents
Communicate with parents regarding the students' progress
Attend training workshops
Plan educational field trips

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree or higher and state teaching certification
- Preferably in Elementary Education
Previous experience teaching at the k-6 level is preferred
Understanding of child development principles and best practices in education and classroom management
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Able to help students social and emotional issues that arise
Flexible
Able to establish good relationships with the students, families and staff
