Villa Dolce Gelato in Glendale, Arizona is looking for an experienced Cost Accountant to join our accounting & finance team. You will be responsible for analyzing and reporting on the costs of our ice cream and frozen dessert manufacturing processes and products. You will also assist in preparing and monitoring budgets, forecasts, and inventory valuations.

To be successful in this role, you should have a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, and 3-5 years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing, preferably with a food or pharmaceutical background. Candidates must possess strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel. Responsibilities:

- Collect and analyze data on the costs of raw materials, labor, overhead, and other production expenses relative to our daily operational performance

- Develop and maintain standard costs of finished goods and work-in-progress inventory

- Perform variance analysis to identify and explain deviations from standard costs and budgets

- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports and assist with preparation of financial statements

- Assist in the preparation and review of budgets and forecasts

- Coordinate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting

- Recommend and implement cost-effective solutions to improve profitability and efficiency

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field

- 3-5 years of cost accounting experience in the manufacturing industry (food preferred)

- Knowledge of cost accounting methods, principles, and practices

- Experience with accounting software, such as QuickBooks or Sage

- Proficiency in MS Excel, especially with formulas, functions, pivot tables, and charts

- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills

- Attention to detail and accuracy

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
