PRODUCTION WORKER/ MACHINE OPERATOR

· Operating hours: 8:00AM – 4:30PM, M-F
COMPANY DESCRIPTION: Nortek Powder Coating is a manufacturer of high-quality powder coatings. Established in 2005, the company offers a wide range of quality powder coating product choices and full technical support services. Located in Rome, NY the newly expanded facility consists of over 42,000 square feet. Nortek's manufacturing process and facility are designed to readily accommodate both large and small production runs, with a capacity of over 10 million pounds annually. In addition to manufacturing and business operations, the facility includes in-house R&D, quality control and technical support.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide production support in the manufacturing of powder coating
· Read and interpret production formulas and instructions
· Load raw materials into various machines
· Perform visual color inspection of finished products
· Evaluate and test various coating properties for accuracy and quality control
· Package and sort finished products
· Assist in pre- and post-shift inspections of equipment
· Maintain a clean and safe work environment
· Perform various other maintenance duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:
· Able to walk and stand for most of the workday
· Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds repeatedly
· Able to work in a fast-paced environment
· Able to operate heavy machinery such as grinders, mixers, extruders
· Able to perform basic math
· Experience operating a fork-lift is a plus
· Powder coating experience is a plus but not required
· High School Diploma
