We are looking for a Paralegal to join the team at Delta Dental of Wisconsin. The Paralegal is responsible to provide support for the legal team in various aspects of corporate and insurance-related legal matters including filing documentation, organizing and maintaining legal files, drafting various legal documents and performing a variety of legal related administrative tasks.
This hybrid position is located at our headquarters in Stevens Point, WI.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with commercial contracting and vendor management matters, including gathering relevant information from business stakeholders, managing the contract negotiation and execution process, monitoring contractual timelines, and managing the vendor evaluation process.
  • Assist with insurance-related filings, including form and rate filings and licensure matters.
  • Manage the process for, and assist with, responding to security assessments from customers.
  • Assist with the management of the company's enterprise risk management efforts, including monitoring the performance of risk mitigation activities.
  • Assist with the management of the company's environmental, social, and governance initiatives, including monitoring the performance of ESG initiatives.
  • Assist with the management of non-financial audits conducted by the company's regulators or customers.
  • Conduct legal research on insurance regulations, statutes, and case law to provide support for legal strategies and decision-making.
  • Stay informed about changes in insurance laws and regulations that may impact the company's operations.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including commercial contract documents, form and rate filings, other regulatory filings, and corporate governance documents.
  • Oversee the administration of the company's government affairs conduit, including receiving and responding to funding requests and performing necessary filings.
  • Maintain and organize legal databases, document management systems, and the legal and compliance team's intake system.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to gather relevant information for legal and contractual matters.
  • Assist in ensuring the company's compliance with relevant insurance laws and regulations.

Education/Experience/Personal Requirements
  • Associate's degree or equivalent in paralegal studies or a related field.
  • Paralegal certification preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on corporate law, commercial transactions, and/or insurance law.
  • Proficient in legal research, document drafting, and matter management.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in legal software and Microsoft Office Suite
