Job Description: The Chemical Engineer Manager will lead the engineering department at our polymer recycling facility in Mansfield, Texas. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a strategic mindset. The Chemical Engineer Manager will be responsible for overseeing all engineering activities related to polymer compounding and blending processes, including process design, optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. They will manage a team of chemical engineers and technicians, collaborate closely with other departments, and drive innovation to achieve operational excellence and meet business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the engineering department, providing guidance, direction, and support to chemical engineers and technicians.
  • Develop and optimize polymer compounding and blending processes to achieve desired product properties, performance, and cost targets.
  • Design and implement experiments, trials, and pilot-scale studies to evaluate new materials, formulations, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with production, quality control, and maintenance teams to identify and address process-related problems, optimize equipment performance, and minimize downtime.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce waste, improve quality, and lower production costs.
  • Manage engineering projects from conception to completion, including scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in polymer science, engineering, and recycling.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the engineering team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in a chemical engineering role, with a focus on polymer processing and recycling.
  • Strong technical expertise in polymer science, materials engineering, and process engineering.
  • Experience managing engineering projects and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of process optimization techniques, statistical analysis, and quality management principles.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards applicable to polymer manufacturing and recycling.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence others and drive change.
