The Costa Mesa Sanitary District (CMSD) provides solid waste and wastewater collection services to a population of approximately 116,000 in Costa Mesa and small portions of Newport Beach and unincorporated Orange County. CMSD is an independent special district that is governed by an elected 5-member Board of Directors.
