What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Clerk position at Cooks Venture?
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintaining current inventory levels, process purchasing orders as required, and track orders and investigate problems
- Assist with month-end inventory count
- Record purchases, maintain database, perform physical count of inventory, and reconcile actual stock count to computer-generated reports
- Receive, unpack, and deliver goods, label shelves, and re-stock items, as necessary
- Process and document returns, as required following established procedures
- Perform routine clerical duties, including but not limited to data entry, answering telephones, and assisting customers
- Dispose of obsolete inventory as directed by leadership
- Comply with Cooks Venture policies and regulations regarding safety, food safety, environmental sustainability, animal welfare, ingredients, and any related item
- Perform other projects, initiatives, and tasks as directed by leadership
- Support company efforts as identified by KPIs (on the breakroom TVs)
- Uphold mission statement
- Review previous shift’s documentation and issue documentation corrections to the appropriate supervisor
- Perform pre-shipment review of documentation on all lots of finished product
- Maintain appropriate documentation standards as needed by the food safety and quality program.
- Analyze data from statistical process controls
- Adhere to the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) Plan, ensuring plant compliance
- Perform critical food safety checks on production floor
- Maintain GMPs as well as provide leadership in modeling good food safety and quality practices
- Offer suggestions and improvements to improve quality and food safety.
- Participate in food safety and quality training as scheduled
- Maintain confidential information in a discreet, professional manner
- Report unsafe practices in any of the following areas: personal safety, product safety, product quality, potential contamination issues (unintentional or intentional).
- Be a gatekeeper for the facility to ensure protection of people and product from unauthorized visitors and report of any suspicious behavior.
Physical Activities:
- Position requires significant physical activity and may require lifting up to 50 pounds
- Position requires extended hours, including evenings and weekends
Technical Experience:
- Must be able to read and write English
- Comfortable using email, Microsoft Office, and other technologies
- Experience on forklift preferred
Minimum Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
