Supervision
Supervise Clinic Dental services and staff including staffing, hiring, training, monitoring and evaluating performance, initiating corrective/disciplinary actions, complying with applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, standards, and ICHS policies and procedures; ensure patient and employee safety and health and other programs and activities.
Assist in developing and monitoring departmental budget; set goals, objectives and action plans for Clinic.
Lead quality assurance and improvement efforts; consult with appropriate staff to identify problems; develop and implement quality improvement and standards.
Oversee operations and maintain accountability of supplies and equipment maintenance and other clinical issues.
Reviews, investigate grievances, complaints and implements corrective action.
Provide clinical consultation for Dental Hygienists, Dental Assistants and other health professionals requiring formal dental oversight under Washington State law. Provide clinical consultation for ICHS medical and dental providers as requested.
Monitors and supervise the infection control and environment safety and health programs; actively participate and support Accident Prevention and Emergency Management programs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Clinical
Perform wide spectrum of dentistry for patients of the clinic; act as a Primary care Dental Provider for patients; meet productivity and clinical standard levels. Diagnose and treat acute and chronic dental problems.
Provide preventative dental care and dental education.
Practice within the scope of competency and refer patients to specialist when appropriate.
Assess level of skills and knowledge to take steps to improve areas of deficiency.
Participate in improving the oral health of individuals, families and groups in the community through diagnosis, treatment and education.
Maintain well documented patient records.
May practice all aspects of dentistry such as orthodontics, implants, implant crowns, bone grafts, etc. based on approved credentialing (special privileges).
Other Functions
Lead programs and employees, hire, train, assign workload/projects, monitor and evaluate performance, initiate corrective and/or disciplinary actions, and perform all other related leadership functions.
Set the direction, create linkages among programs and departments, lead staff and establish targets necessary to achieve the strategies and mission of ICHS in empowering staff and promoting a work environment of service, teamwork and respect. Direct the deployment of strategies and goals throughout the department and ICHS. Work respectfully and courteously with other employees, follow direction and work well under pressure.
Hold employees accountable for accident prevention and reporting in compliance with WA State L&I regulations and ICHS Safety and Health Program. Ensure that all safety and health rules, standards and procedures are observed; conduct regular self-inspections; arrange for, conduct and ensure that accident investigations of all accidents occurred; monitor and enforce ICHS Safety and Health Program and actively support and participate in the Emergency Preparedness Program and tasks.
Ensure employees are responsible and accountable in complying with all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, ICHS policies and procedures including ICHS Privacy, Security and Compliance policies and procedures, Code of Conduct, and Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA).
Actively participate in Quality Improvement program and activities; initiate Quality projects and/or process improvement to attain quality service delivery.

Clinic Site Dental Director Hourly range: $66.35 - $97.14
Education-Graduated from an accredited dental school.
Experience – Five (5) years of experience working as a Dentist in a clinical setting and including three (3) years of management experience. Never been disciplined by any professional or peer review organization, governmental agency, licensing body or other applicable entity. Working with culturally diverse limited English or non- English, speaking patients preferred. Fluency in some A/PI languages preferred.
Other Requirement – License to practice in Washington State without restriction, probation, or limiting condition or threat thereof. Current and active DEA Registration licensure. Current Washington State Driver’s license.�16231% %%hr%%
