Job Summary

The C&SP division of CTS has a great career opportunity as an Associate Product Manager for our Content Delivery Network (CDN) Product Suite. This role combines your strong technical Content Delivery expertise with business acumen and the User Experience. Product Management is a critical strategic role that focuses on maintaining and executing our CDN Product vision by growing new and existing Customer opportunities alongside our Sales and Finance teams. You will also have an integrated partnership with the talented Comcast CDN DevOps teams. Along with CDN technology, the role has Product ownership of Content Origins and Cloud Storage solutions for large-scale Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) Streaming media companies. This individual contributor position reports to the Sr Director of Product Management for CDN and offers a wide range of cross-functional collaboration. In addition to demonstrated technical expertise, the ideal candidate must have excellent communications skills and a strong business aptitude. Who does this role and the Product team work with? The Associate Product Manager role will have a unique opportunity to combine highly technical Computer Science and Software Development skills with real-world Product Management and sales. You will be working with the best and brightest product and technology minds at Comcast in service of the top streaming providers who are redefining how entertainment services are experienced by consumers. You will serve as a CDN champion for CTS customers while helping to bridge the gap between business and technical solutions to deliver products that video streaming customers love. You will work closely with Customers, CDN software engineers, account teams, and finance teams to guide Content Delivery product offerings. You will also have access to incredible ‘sister’ organizations within Comcast and world-class Vendors to help drive end-to-end Product vision and execution. Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in IP Video streaming and Content Delivery (CDN) architecture including familiarity with CDN hardware, software, design, and implementation
  • Expertise in HTTP URL structures, Domains, DNS, and Web delivery models using streaming protocols such as HLS and DASH
  • Web delivery security knowledge such as Digital Rights Management (DRM), Tokenization, TLS, and Web Application Firewall solutions (WAF)
  • Solid understanding of the CDN Industry and key providers such as Akamai, Edgio, Amazon CloudFront, Azure, CacheFly, Fastly, and Cloudflare
  • Strong knowledge of Cloud-based processing, Storage, and Origin delivery for IP video and web objects such as AWS S3/CloudFront, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure
  • Familiarity with how Client-Players interact with Streaming Content, Origins, and CDN’s
  • Familiarity with Network routing, TCP/IP routing protocols, Network layers, and access control lists (ACLs)
  • Utilize modern data tools to regularly assess and report on Origin, Storage, and CDN trending and performance
  • Be ready to jump in a help solve operational issues as part of escalations
  • Use your refined listening skills to champion customer needs and expectations
  • Spend time with customers to understand what they need and why
  • 2-4 years experience required

General Responsibilities

  • Analyzes product management activities for several products, or one key product. Serves as a resource to other product managers, assisting them in the resolution of semi-complex problems or may lead them on larger projects.
  • Accountable for profit and loss or budgetary management of assigned products.
  • Gathers input to define product concepts. Justifies expenditures for products. Defines and analyzes markets.
  • Evaluates technologies. Develops detailed product features and requirements and develops implementation plans. Participates in cross-functional teams to envision new product features.
  • Coordinates with outside vendors and strategic partners to ensure that product initiatives are well-defined and delivered on time and within budget.
  • Reviews pricing strategies to insure company profitability and competition in the marketplace. Performs periodic margin analysis.
  • Makes product improvement recommendations to meet changing operational, sales and market needs.
  • Coordinates among a wide range of cross-functional internal and external resources to ensure that products get to market per specifications, within budget and on schedule.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Salary:

Pay Range: $89,275.08 - $133,912.63

Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience.
