Are you passionate about creating delicious baked goods that delight customers? Capers Cafe & Catering Company is seeking an experienced bakers to join our team. As a baker, you will be responsible for producing high-quality pastries, bread, and desserts while maintaining our commitment to exceptional taste and presentation. Must be willing to work weekends, evening, and holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, bread, and desserts following established recipes and quality standards.
  • Monitor oven temperatures, baking times, and ingredient quantities to ensure consistent quality and taste.
  • Decorate and garnish baked goods to enhance their visual appeal and attract customers.
  • Maintain inventory of baking ingredients and supplies, placing orders as needed to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations, including proper storage and handling of ingredients.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate baking schedules and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new recipes, and techniques to enhance our product offerings.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a baker in a commercial kitchen or bakery setting.
  • Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
  • Ability to follow recipes accurately and consistently to achieve desired results.
  • Creative flair and attention to detail in decorating and presenting baked goods.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Food handler's certification or willingness to obtain one.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy trays, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Training:

  • Formal culinary education or apprenticeship preferred but not required.
  • Relevant work experience and a passion for baking are key qualifications.
