ABOUT THE ROLE
Cadre is currently seeking a Senior Accountant reporting to the Finance Controller to assist in the accounting and financial reporting operations. The position will require close interaction and collaboration with our fund operations, legal and people teams. Although defined as a position emphasizing detailed accounting and reporting responsibilities, the role will provide for professional growth in a broad range of disciplines in real estate investment financial operations.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Financial Reporting:
- Accountable for accuracy, integrity, timeliness, and consistency of all transactions recorded into the general ledger and final reports made to management.
- Day-to-day accounting activities, e.g. reviewing weekly payroll and upload into general ledger, review of corporate expenses and preparing journal entries, conducting monthly account reconciliations and analysis, and preparing all supporting work papers including the consolidation of different business lines and entities, including a broker dealer.
- Perform monthly closing activities and help prepare monthly financial reporting packages.
Income and Expenses:
- Oversee certain income and expense activities.
- Track all inter-company expenses; oversee the billing and collection from all entities.
- Enter expenses into Bill.com for approval and coordinate timing of payments.
- Oversee bank account activity and prepare monthly bank reconciliation for review.
- Manage AMEX, Ramp and Brex card spending accounts.
- Oversee Certify and T&E process for accuracy.
- Track expenses by transaction project.
- Perform monthly expense allocation for entities.
- Perform payroll reconciliations.
Cash Management:
- Promptly record all cash activity in the GL, and accurately report cash balances.
Financial Governance:
- Maintain knowledge of, and act in compliance with, key governing documents.
- Monitor internal financial controls, and work with the Controller to develop new controls as necessary.
Audit & Taxation:
- Coordinate corporate tax matters with the assistance of other taxation resources including implementing compliance, filing, and planning matters.
- Help in the coordination of the annual audits.
- Prepare tax work papers for all corporate entities and reconcile completed returns to books.
- Ensure all 1099 reporting and commercial rent tax reporting is completed timely.
WHAT YOU HAVE
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting for private or public corporate entities. Experience at a real estate operator, broker dealer, start-up or investment firm is a plus.
- Undergraduate degree in accounting required.
- Experience in NetSuite is required
- Experience in collaborating with internal and external resources to perform accounting, reporting, taxation, and financial operations for corporate entities.
- Series 99 a plus!
- Demonstrated command of accounting and general business computer applications.
- Superior business skills, attention to detail.
- Excellent quantitative and qualitative skills, including strong oral and written communication.
- Energy and commitment to work in a high-paced, dynamic and collaborative environment.
