**Snap Engineering Academy @ Snap Inc.**

Description

Each summer, Snap Inc. and LA-Tech.org partner to host the Snap Academies for community college students across Los Angeles. Each student receives a scholarship to participate, plus access to cutting edge technology. This year, we host the 4th annual Snap Design Academy, the 2nd annual Snap Engineering Academy, and are pleased to announce the addition of two new academies: Storytelling and AR. The personal data collected on this application form, excluding resume, LinkedIn, portfolio and work samples, are for the sole use of LA-Tech.org and will not be shared with or otherwise used by Snap Inc. This summer, LA-Tech.org is partnering with Snap Inc. to host the 2nd Snap Engineering Academy, a hands-on, 8-week engineering training program for 15 students from Los Angeles. All students will receive a stipend including expenses to participate in the academy. Each student will participate in custom, technical workshops, fireside chats and mentorship with Snap Inc. employees. A final group project will culminate the academy experience. Selected participants of the academy are expected to be available to complete the entirety of the program. ACADEMY INFORMATION: Duration: 8 Weeks Commitment: Monday - Friday (10am-4pm) Start Date: June 14 Location: Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the academy will be conducted virtually. APPLICATION DEADLINE: Sunday, April 4th at 11:59PM PST SKILLS ASSESSMENT Candidates who submit an application will receive a skills assessment on April 5th and will need to be submitted by April 9th. FIRST ROUND INTERVIEWS WITH LA-TECH.ORG (VIA GOOGLE HANGOUTS): Candidates selected for 1st round interviews will be sent an interview sign-up link on April 16th. 1st round interviews will be held on the week of April 26th. SECOND ROUND INTERVIEWS WITH SNAP INC. (VIA GOOGLE HANGOUTS): Candidates selected for a 2nd round interview with Snap Inc. employees will be sent an interview sign-up link on May 7th. 2nd round interviews will be held on the week of May 10th. ACCEPTANCE NOTIFICATIONS: Friday, May 21st. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must be 18 years of age or older Some experience with Web Development Alignment with Snap Inc.s mission, values and voice.
