What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory & Title Clerk position at BMW of Manhattan and MINI of Manhattan?
General Description:
The Title Clerk is responsible for processing vehicle title applications, stocking in all new and used vehicles, paying off liens on traded vehicles, and maintaining accurate inventory postings to the General Ledger based on physical inventory.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Verify that funds have been collected and the correct lienholder paid off before processing title applications.
- Check for accuracy in the application and complete any missing items.
- Keep management and the sales department informed of all title regulations.
- Maintain either a documentation manual or computer inquiry system to verify out-of-state titles.
- Perform a monthly “title to vehicle” inventory check and report to management any missing titles and their status.
- Prepare a monthly report to management of any titles and/ or lien releases not received from lienholders
- Purify the title fees schedule and provide management with a listing of any uncollected fee.
- Refund any excess fees from trade equity balances with proper documentation.
- Maintain accurate database or log of all incoming outright purchases and trade-in vehicles
Qualifications:
- Excellent math and verbal skills. These skills may be tested and evaluated.
- Attention to detail is a must as well as a sense of urgency for time sensitive items
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
- Must speak clearly on the telephone and convey an image of professional and competence to callers.
- Must be able to convey messages to employees clearly and quickly.
- Must be able to judge when employees should and should not be interrupted, e.g., when a client advisor is with a customer.
- Professional personal appearance.
- Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks.
