We are developing and looking to add a dynamic and charismatic person who can help us maintain exceptional service. The firm is seeking a full-time associate attorney to join the team. This position offers both in-office and hybrid work in a flexible model based on your professional sensibility. This associate attorney would handle in-person and virtual court appearances for felony, misdemeanor, and traffic cases.

Compensation:

$60,000 commensurate with experience

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting court appearances, including arraignments, pretrials, probation violation hearings, evidence suppression hearings, and trials in Common Pleas, Municipal, and Mayor’s Courts
  • Negotiating with prosecutors to obtain the best possible outcome for clients
  • Providing clients with updates during and/or following court appearances and answering their questions
  • Conducting in-person and virtual visits with incarcerated clients
  • Reviewing discovery and analyzing the merits of client's cases
  • Conducting legal research and preparing legal documents, such as motions, pleadings, and briefs
  • Conducting consultation calls with prospective clients
Qualifications:

  • Must have at least 1-5 years of experience as a criminal defense or prosecuting attorney
  • Must be an active member and in good standing with the Ohio Bar with no pending or prior disciplinary history
  • Applicants should be motivated self-starters, who are able to work alone and communicate effectively with clients and the team
  • Must have a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Possess a demonstrated history of excellence in their career, as well as a passion for serving criminal defense clients
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable in an all-Mac environment
  • Excellent analytical abilities
  • Good organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Can display flexibility, initiative, good judgment, and discretion
