POSITION SUMMARY

Nippon Steel Trading Americas, Inc. is a subsidiary of public company in Japan and engages in the import, export and distribution of various products in North and South America. We are looking to add an assistant accounting manager to support rapidly growing business.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Perform month-end close including posting AJE and preparing financial reports
• Communicate with other department to resolve issues and reconcile subledgers
• Prepare semi-annual budget
• Prepare or review cash flow forecast
• Review sales tax returns and census reporting
• Train and supervise a group of accounting staff
• Maintain a positive working environment that reflect company's values
• Work with internal auditors, external auditors and external tax team to ensure timely reporting
• Communicate with subsidiaries and affiliates as well as parent company for various reporting
• Identify and implement process improvements
• Implement and monitor effective internal controls

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required
• CPA preferred
• Minimum 4 years of experience in accounting
• Previous public accounting experience is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP.
• Excellent time and project management skills.
• Ability to adapt to new technology.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (ex. VLOOKUP and Pivot table)
• Experience using Microsoft GP is a plus.
• Fluent in English
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
