Job Overview and Responsibilities Mission:

* The Customer Technical Development (CTD) function within Solvay Specialty Polymers is designed to provide strong technical expertise and value to our customers by leveraging the entire product portfolio, resources, and know-how of the GBU. We are currently seeking a CTD Team Leader to develop the Transportation market in the Americas.

* The team leader will be responsible for developing, growing, and managing support of the CTD team for the Americas. The team leader will also provide technical development to key customers and managing urgent trouble shootings.

* The team leader will create effective interactions with sales and marketing teams, application development labs, R&I, manufacturing to develop total customer solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities:

* The team leader will manage the CTD engineers team to develop the Transportation market, work closely with both the key account managers and marketing teams in order to achieve business goals.

* Team management: Set objectives, manage performance, and evaluate results of the CTD team. Manage the CTD teams daily operation and way of working by ECCO organization with global CTD team.

* Identify individual and team development needs and address with the support of regional manager, fellow team leaders, and technical expertise centers.

* Key accounts technical development: leading team to make sure the key customers have smooth production and solve the complaints and trouble-shooting timely.

* Align resources with local customer needs, assure high quality proactive participation on strategy key account teams (CMT)

* New opportunities development: Identify development opportunities in the team, alignment with commercial partners on the customer and business strategies.

* Align resources with market growth initiatives in the region and work with market managers on the growth programs.

* Mapping the value chain of our products and competitor products, acquire dynamic market knowledge and competitive landscape understanding. Elicit a complete set of customer requirements and develop the value proposition of Solvay materials.

* Work directly with the Global CTD community, ADL, MD, and R&I teams, to develop and implement solutions for customer applications.

Education and Experience

* Academic degree in engineering, chemistry, or a technical related field

* Desired 5 to 10 years of experience providing technical development, research or product development to high performance polymers.

* Business understanding of polymers applications in transportation markets

* Fluency in English
