This non-exempt position adheres to a Quality Control System, which complies with federal, state and local construction specifications for the asphalt and concrete plant products as well as the products from the quarry operations.
- Perform routine testing of aggregate samples such as running gradations, washes and moistures to ensure compliance with specification of various projects and with federal, state and local regulations.
- Enter data into the aggregate quality reporting system and ensure accurate and timely recordkeeping.
- Calibrate and maintain test equipment to standards on regular intervals.
- Perform routine housekeeping of the lab and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Establish and maintain lines of communication with plant operations, agency representatives, and quality control supervision.
- Receives and analyzes product related technical data coming from external salespeople and technical representatives regarding production procedures.
- Work with sales team to address and resolve customer complaints.
- Preforms other job related duties as required or assigned.
- Travels between quarries and to jobsites as required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to meet physical requirements such as movement and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience preferred.
- Basic math skills and basic knowledge of statistics.
- Strong work ethic and organizational skills.
- Willingness to attend the PennDOT Certified Aggregate Technician program within the first year of hire.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format individually and in group settings.
