Chief Purpose of this position: The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Cardiology is seeking a BC/BE Cardiologist with training/experience in Advanced Heart Failureand/or Critical Care Medicine.The incumbent will join an established groupof physicians and surgeons in one of the top Heart Centers in the United States.We are dedicated to building a preeminent program for academic discovery andare committed to excellent clinical care for our patients.
Position Responsibilities:
Teaching | To support teaching directly via interactions with medical students, residents, and fellows. In addition, will be expected to participate in University Continuing Medical Education programs for practicing physicians which is important to enhancing patient referrals.
Research | To support clinical research protocols as needed.
Service | Will be expected to participate in quality, safety, and efficiency initiatives.
Clinical | Will primarily be dedicated to coverage in the CICU along with noninvasive cardiology imaging.
Other | Submit billing and document care as required by the organization. Abide by all medical staff requirements.
Required Qualifications:

• Board certified/board eligible Cardiologist
• Ability to communicate and work effectively within a largemultidisciplinary program
• Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diversefaculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a facultymember at VCU

Preferred Qualifications:

• Interest, training and/or experience in the diagnosis, risk stratification and treatment of cardiovascular disease, critical care cardiology and expertise in Advanced Heart Failure
