Duration: 9 months, from 01 April to 31 December 2025, with the possibility of renewal.
We are looking for a Consultant/Consultancy to support policy activities promoting a shift towards plant-based food production and consumption.
EXPECTED DELIVERABLES:
The Consultant will collaborate with European-based partner organizations to contribute to the Brussels policy conversation on this topic, conduct an analysis of EU funding opportunities that could support a transition to a more plant-based food system, and build the capacity of BirdLife’s Agricultural Task Force members.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Strong understanding of EU policies and EU institutions related to food systems, sustainability, plant-based dietary shifts, and novel protein technologies.
- Relevant educational qualification in this field and/or relevant work experience.
- Experience working with policymakers, NGOs, and industry stakeholders to contribute to policy discussions.
- Ability to assess policy opportunities, funding mechanisms, and regulatory frameworks supporting plant-based food transitions.
- Ability to draft policy briefs, reports, and position papers based on evidence-based research.
- Experience in developing and delivering training programs tailored to diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to manage projects, track budgets, and report on progress both internally and externally.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with BirdLife’s internal policy team and external partners.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex topics to diverse audiences.
- Fluency in English, additional European languages are a plus.

- Date when consultant would be able to start;
- Daily rate and total proposed budget in Euros, VAT excluded. Please note: Any offers received that do not respect the upper limit will be automatically excluded from the evaluation procedure. The price for the tender must be quoted in euro. Tenderers from countries outside the euro zone have to quote their prices in euro. The price quoted may not be revised in line with exchange rate movements. It is for the tenderer to assume the risks or the benefits deriving from any variation.
