Job opportunity:
We are looking for a versatile Artworker who will not only be responsible for the entire artwork process from receipt of customer drawings/artwork, to final print plate/digital front end (DFE), but who will also be a 'hands-on' member of our digital production team.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Produce highly precise label artwork files ready for print/manufacturing.
- Ensure all artwork contains the correct technical information and 'mark-ups' for reproduction.
- Retouching, checking and amending new and existing artwork ensuring client brand guidelines are followed precisely.
- Create, check and proof artwork for errors and make any necessary corrections.
- Coordinating the customer artwork and format approval process.
- Use the DFE and workflow to rip files for digital print production.
- Create, manipulate and manage database files and spreadsheets for printing accurate variable data.
- Print labels using CMYK and monochrome digital printers.
- Support the marketing department producing and printing marketing materials and samples when needed.
What we are looking for:
- Artworking experience (2 years preferred)
- Meticulously high attention to detail
- Good understanding and experience of repro for press
- Technical knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Access and Excel
- Ability to work closely from technical drawings and brand guidelines
- Confident in pre-press production and digital typesetting
- Strong time management skills and pace to complete work and manage deadlines.
- A pro-active 'can-do' attitude with confident communication skills.
- To work effectively as an integral part of the manufacturing process.
- To ensure that client objectives and company quality standards are met or exceeded.
