Job Posting for Financial Accountant at Britannia Pharmaceuticals Ltd
This role requires you to be on-site three days a week in our Reading office on a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Optional home working is on a Wednesday and Friday.
OBJECTIVE
Ensure that group and statutory reporting requirements are met in a timely and robust manner.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Monthly Reporting Process:
Plan, organise and manage own workload to ensure the company’s monthly financial reporting processes are achieved in a timely and accurate manner, including but not limited to:
Preparation of stock valuation, and necessary stock provisions, ensuring early identification of stock risks
Support Commercial Finance colleagues in the preparation of the sales flash for working day one.
Monitoring of goods received not invoiced account ensuring timely reconciliation
Preparation of accruals and prepayments
Maintenance of fixed asset and intangible asset register
Reconciliation of intercompany balances
Processing of timesheets for R&D
Participate strongly in financial reviews, challenging and providing commentary on significant transactions and variances
Preparation of the balance sheet reconciliations ensuring that all carrying balances are adequately supported
Covering for the Senior Financial Accountant for Functional Reporting Commentary for actuals and submission to STADA including updating the BI tool.
Statutory Returns
Ensuring statutory reporting obligations are correctly recorded, reconciled, authorised and submitted in a timely manner:
Preparation of VAT returns, EC Sales list and intrastat returns, ensuring all information is correctly recorded, reconciled and submitted in a timely manner
Preparation of National Statistical Office returns
Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual VPAG returns
Provide information required for the preparation of the Corporation Tax returns
Preparation of the annual P11d and PSA returns
Assist in the preparation of the statutory accounts
PERSONAL SPECIFICATION (Skills required to perform the job)
Essential:
Experience of working consistently to tight deadlines, whilst maintaining high level of accuracy
Challenging and analytical in nature, confident to challenge until underlying reasons are identified
Ability to work in a team and as an individual
Able to provide meaningful analysis of data using Excel, able to utilise pivot tables and macros where appropriate.
