The Air Traffic Subject Matter Expert (SME) will provide expert guidance and advisory services on air traffic management (ATM), safety protocols, and operational procedures within controlled airspace. This role focuses on enhancing the efficiency, safety, and coordination of aircraft movements, while supporting training, innovation, and collaborative initiatives in the aviation sector. The SME will leverage extensive experience in air traffic control (ATC) to drive improvements in operational performance, regulatory compliance, and crisis management strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert consultation on ATC strategies and processes to ensure safe and efficient aircraft movements within controlled airspace.
Collaborate with air traffic management teams, safety officers, and regulatory bodies to refine operational procedures and communication protocols.
Lead training and mentorship programs for new and experienced research staff, utilizing real-world examples to promote high safety and performance standards.
Advise on integrating technological advancements, such as air traffic control systems (e.g., LORADS 3), to enhance operational capabilities and minimize delays.
Participate in audits, inspections, and reviews of ATM operations, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and operational excellence.
Support innovation projects aimed at improving the efficiency and sustainability of airspace management.
Job Requirements:
License: Air Traffic Controller license (past or current).
Experience: At least 20 years of experience in air traffic control, including operational oversight and emergency procedures.
Skills:
Strong understanding of ATC operations, aircraft movement, and safety protocols.
Excellent training and mentorship capabilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking skills, focused on operational excellence and safety.
