Job Scope:
As a Manager, Trade (Feeder Management), this exciting role will sit in the commercial team as they manage the analysis of trade volumes, shipping patterns and the market. This will be crucial in ensuring cost efficiency and profitability for the business.
Responsibilities:
· To aid in decision-making, perform thorough study of trade volumes, market circumstances, and shipping patterns.
· Assess shipping routes, capacity, and pricing schemes to ensure operational efficiency and business goals are met through trade forecasting and data analysis.
· Get involved in vessels selectionthat match the cargo volume potential, considering port limitations and vessel size.
· Plan and optimize trade routes based on the current market demand and supply dynamics.
· Secure berth windows for port calls and negotiate terminal agreements.
· Handle and resolve claims (cargo, container, or vessel-related) in collaboration with the legal team when necessary.
· Monitor competitor activity and market tonnage on the trade lane.
· Understand market conditions affecting tonnage supply and pricing.
· Differentiate services or increase frequency by expanding service coverage or swapping slots with other operators.
· Optimize cargo selection to maximize Net To Vessel (NTV) returns.
· Develop a slot utilization plan, balancing structured deals and open slots.
· Oversee agencies involved in vessel operations, cargo bookings, and customer relations across locations.
· Communicate business strategyclearly within the department and with other teams to align with P&L goals.
The Ideal Candidate:
· Bachelors Degree in Maritime, Business or any related discipline is a plus.
· More than 5 years of experience in the shipping industry with strong background in feeder management is a plus.
· Proficiency in Power BI, Dashboarding and other reporting tools is a plus.
· Individuals with great communication and stakeholder management skills are a plus.
