Job Posting for Structural Welding and Painting Inspector at JOBSTER PRIVATE LTD.
Roles and responsibility:
Visual Inspection: Conduct visual inspections of welds to check for obvious defects such as cracks, porosity, undercut, lack of fusion, or other visible flaws.
Non-Destructive Testing (NDT): Perform or coordinate NDT methods, such as ultrasonic testing (UT), radiographic testing (RT), magnetic particle testing (MPT), and dye penetrant testing (DPT), to identify hidden defects.
Weld Size and Appearance: Ensure welds meet the required size, geometry, and appearance as per design specifications and welding codes.
Check for Proper Weld Procedure: Verify that the correct welding procedure specifications (WPS) are followed and that the welder is qualified according to applicable standards (e.g., AWS, ASME).
Inspection of Welding Materials: Ensure that the right welding materials (electrodes, filler rods, etc.) are used according to the project’s requirements and material specifications.
Verify Compliance with Codes and Standards: Ensure that welding work complies with industry codes and standards, such as AWS, ASME, ISO, and customer-specific requirements.
Monitor Welder Qualifications: Ensure that welders hold valid certifications and are qualified for the specific types of welding they are performing (e.g., SMAW, TIG, MIG).
Conduct Weld Defect Analysis: Identify and analyze weld defects, provide reports, and recommend corrective actions or repairs.
Document Inspection Results: Maintain detailed records of inspections, including defect reports, welding procedures, and any corrective actions taken.
Prepare Reports: Write detailed inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and audit findings. Provide feedback on welding performance, quality, and compliance.
Communication with Teams: Communicate with welding engineers, production managers, or project managers to resolve welding issues or concerns, ensuring corrective actions are taken when necessary.
Maintain Logs: Keep records of welding activities, inspection results, and material certifications for quality assurance purposes.
Client Liaison: Act as a point of contact for clients during inspections, providing updates and ensuring that the work meets the client’s quality requirements.
Review Welding Procedures: Check welding procedures (WPS) to ensure that they are in line with the design, codes, and standards for the specific project.
Requirement:
Experience : Minimum 10 Years experience in Shipyard welding experience and should have knowledge in painting inspection..
Qualification: Minimum Qualification in Mechanical Degree, Certification in Certified welding Inspector, add value if have additional Painting inspector certification .
