Catering Assistant

24 hours per week Friday to Monday

We are on the hunt for a reliable individual for our café located on site at the Fonterra factory in Eltham. The café at this site is open 7 days per week from early until late and we are seeking candidates for this part time position.

Offering good wholesome meals and cabinet food, you will be working alongside a Cook to provide the full café service. We are particularly seeking someone with some cooking and baking experience in order to assist the chef/cook, and step in to provide some cover when needed.

What you’ll do:

• support the chef with food preparation and baking
• serve café style food to customers
• operate EFTPOS and POS machine with a smile
• move and manage stock
• clean and do dishes

Who you are:

• self-motivated with a strong customer focus and a passion for food
• experience baking or confidence to follow instruction/recipe
• friendly and engaging, hard-working and flexible
• have experience in food preparation, and knowledge of food safety and hygiene
• have experience in cafe and cafeteria style food service
• flexible and willing to work additional hours when required to provide cover
