Description

About the Team and Business:

We’re excited to launch our UK business, Vintage Cash Cow, in Europe, and we’re currently setting up our European sister company, Arcavindi, out of a fantastic space just outside of Arnhem, in order to accommodate all business operations and our ever growing team. This warehouse will fulfill orders for the Netherlands, Germany, and France and we’re looking for an experienced Operations Director to build and support this growth!

At the heart of our organisation, the Operations Team is critical to ensuring our processes run smoothly and efficiently. This role will be heavily involved in all aspects of scaling our new European team operation. We're starting from scratch, and you'll play a vital role not only in scaling the warehouse operation but also in building an incredible team, who are equally as passionate about business efficiency, productivity, profitability, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

As Operations Director, you will partner with the wider business, including our UK business, and work closely with the executive team to elevate and grow the Operations Team here in The Netherlands.
This is an amazing opportunity to make a big impact on an ever-expanding business and shape the future of our European operations.
About the role:
With continued success within our UK operation and now big plans for European growth, we’re looking for an Operations Director to help propel us into the next phase. While we have a well-functioning UK operations team, a huge part of this role will be building the operations, processes, and warehouse structure in Europe from scratch, whilst using our learnings from the UK operations as well as your own experience.

This is an amazing opportunity to roll up your sleeves and build an incredible business from the ground up. This is a dynamic, transformational role where you’ll be required to be passionate, proactive, and commercially astute. You'll manage and optimise all aspects of our appraisals, marketplace, and logistics operations, while being an inspirational and supportive leader. As operations sits at the core of the business, we need someone who can embed themselves in the business, inspire change, and drive everyone forward with us!
Key goals and objectives:
  • Drive operational efficiency, by creating a fast, reactive, scalable model factoring in technology, process optimisation and building a data-centric culture
  • Develop a scalable blueprint for operations to move into new markets internationally
  • Instil a data and high-performance culture across all operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a clear plan for the European operational function and implement it through coaching, mentoring, and change management, ensuring the teams are motivated, fully resourced, and skilled to succeed
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of operational strategies and processes, striving to maximise efficiency, productivity, and profitability
  • Oversee operational capacity, ensuring resources are optimally allocated to meet business demands and support growth
  • Drive productivity by identifying areas for improvement, streamlining processes, and implementing initiatives that enhance performance across the team
  • Create a customer-centric environment, ensuring that all operations are aligned with delivering exceptional customer experiences and satisfaction
  • Oversee people/team development and training, ensuring that the team is well-equipped with the skills and knowledge to perform at their best and grow within the company
  • Ensure health and safety standards are met, managing facilities to ensure a safe and functional work environment
  • Oversee the day-to-day product processes and logistics throughout operations, maintaining smooth and efficient workflows
  • Develop and manage capacity forecasts and KPIs to measure performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Analyse data and reports, identifying trends and opportunities for operational optimisation
  • Collaborate with the executive team to develop and execute business plans and growth strategies
  • Identify and implement new technologies and systems to improve and optimise operations
  • Establish credibility and trust throughout the organisation as an effective leader of people, developing solutions to business challenges and changes
  • Be an inspirational, visible, and supportive leader, helping the teams understand and achieve their goals, embedding our values of ‘Caring, Responsible, Innovative’ into every thought and action
