ABOUT THE JOB

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs on equipment and facilities. The Maintenance Tech's duties include upgrading and automating process/production equipment to ensure that the facility remains in operating form.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Maintain and test a variety of instrumentation and equipment at preset timed intervals.
• Ensure that instruments, gauges and testing devices are calibrated correctly and on schedule.
• Complete and file calibration certificates for above items as required.
• Monitor the operational condition of process / production equipment; assess and advise the Technical Maintenance Supervisor in relation to repair or replacement issues; evaluate engineering alternatives and make recommendations; install and maintain electrical and mechanical systems as required.
• Train equipment operators in basic and routine procedures for making adjustments and tuning equipment.
• Catalog and study various manuals and manufacturer specifications; expertise in interpreting blueprints, schematics and diagrams as needed to analyze and resolve malfunctions.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED plus at least one (1) year of specialized training through formal apprenticeships, professionally sponsored workshops, vocational training, college or in-service in a mechanical engineering or electrical automation field or equivalent.
• Experience working in mechanical engineering or electrical automation fields.
• Working knowledge of general electrical automation and mechanical engineering concepts, theories, practices and procedures.
• Team player and experience in resolving conflicts.
• Communicate well both verbally and in writing with team members, vendors, contractors, and management.
• Basic computer experience including use of Microsoft office, and aptitude to learn additional maintenance and calibration programs required to perform duties.
