    Highline Public Schools seeks an innovative and talented communications professional to be its next Director of Communications, joining the Communications department beginning this July! This individual will research, plan, implement and evaluate communications projects and programs in service of the Highline Promise and the goals of the strategic plan. This position is responsible for managing districtwide communication systems, including the website, notification system, and other communication tools and platforms and builds strong internal and external relationships to foster two-way communication between the district and the students, families and community it serves. The ideal candidate will be an inclusive, mission-driven leader, who remains dedicated to the Highline Promise. Working closely and effectively with the chief communications officer, they must be committed to a collaborative approach through teamwork. The successful candidate will be a responsive, strategic, and forward-thinking communicator with a track record of forming strong professional relationships. The ideal candidate must also have strong written and verbal communication skills, and foster a strong workplace culture of belonging. They will lead with a lens of equity and anti-racism in alignment with the values, beliefs and policies of the district.

    Please note the following hiring timeline:This position will close for the first rounds of screenings at 11:30 pm on April 3rd. HR minimum qualification screening and district phone screenings will take place on a rolling basis through April 5th, followed by site-based screening on April 8th. Interviews will be conducted in person and are tentatively scheduled on Friday, April 12th.

    POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Chief Communications Officer, the Director of Communications researches, plans, implements and evaluates communications projects and programs in service of the Highline Promise and the goals of the strategic plan. The Director of Communications leads with a lens of equity and anti-racism in alignment with the values, beliefs and policies of the district. This position is responsible for managing districtwide communication systems, including the website, notification system, and other communication tools and platforms and builds strong internal and external relationships to foster two-way communication between the district and the students, families and community it serves.
