Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support and assistance to individuals in need. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping individuals maintain their independence and improve their quality of life. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide personalized care.
Duties:
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Provide direct support to clients in assisted living or home care settings
- Administer medication as prescribed by healthcare professionals
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Help clients with meal preparation and feeding
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure the well-being of clients
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in personal care or a related field is preferred
- Knowledge of senior care practices and principles
- Ability to perform tasks requiring physical strength, such as heavy lifting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Basic knowledge of medication administration procedures is a plus
