Hansen's IGA is now seeking a Produce Manager at our Bangor store! Shift:

  • Full-time hours, typically first shift. Some weekends are required. Schedule may vary.

Job Duties:

  • Interaction with customers will be friendly, courteous, positive and enthusiastic.
  • Deal with customer concerns and/or complaints.
  • Order all produce merchandise to meet deadlines and have adequate product.
  • Meet gross profit P/L goals established by the corporate office.
  • Knowledge of safe work practices and temperatures for all produce products.
  • Make merchandise display cases.
  • Deal with vendors and salespersons regarding department products.
  • Directs or shows customers where items are in the store.
  • Help customers by knowing information about all produce items.
  • Able to identify produce items; fruits, vegetables, variety, bulk candy, etc.
  • Train new department team members.
  • Replace over-ripe produce.
  • Re-stock and fill produce items.
  • Face current product.
  • Cut, wrap and/or label product.
  • Follow sanitation practices and health regulations and wear appropriate attire.
  • Clean the produce department as required.
  • Stays productive and efficient while punched in.
  • Other duties as they are assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Reliability and dependability is a must in this position.
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds consistently and sometimes up to 60 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
  • Reaching and pulling merchandise regularly.
  • Cooler is 35 degrees F, must be able to work in cooler environments like this at times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
