Custodial/Maintenance

General Description

Responsible for the cleanliness of church, offices, parish center, and grounds upkeep. May perform various routine maintenance and repairs based on skill level and experience.

Reports To: Pastor Employment: FT, Hrly $18-$22, 35 hrs/wk Classification: Non-exempt

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Routine cleaning of church, offices, and parish center.
• Clean, mop, and restock church, office, and parish center restrooms.
• Set up and clean up for all church and parish center functions as assigned.
• Clean parish office kitchen sink, counters, microwaves, refrigerator, and mop floor.
• Moving and transporting furniture, books, and misc. items from buildings.
• Mow lawns at church and rectory.
• Prune trees and shrubs at church and rectory if needed.
• Removal of snow and ice from church ramps and walkways when under limit for the snow removal company.
• Removal of snow and ice from rectory’s drive and walkways when under limit for the snow removal company.
• Be responsible for equipment, vehicle, and tools.
• Assist in other areas related to overall maintenance when assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D and a valid state driver’s license. Must be 21 years of age or older. Has knowledge of procedures, practices, tools, and equipment used in maintenance. Must possess ability to:

•  Move, load and unload equipment and supplies weighing 50 pounds and heavier.
• Work independently without direct supervision.
• Walk long distances around campus, bend, stoop, squat and reach, climb ladders.
• Make judgment related to emergency and safety matters.

  CERTIFICATES, CLEARANCES, LICENSES

  Valid Driver’s License, Safe Environment Training, and various required Archdiocese certifications

  WORK SCHEDULE

  Work will take place Monday thru Friday; schedule will be flexible based on the needs of the parish. Evening and weekend work is required at times.
