Valley County is recruiting for a Juvenile Probation Officer to provide on-going supervision and case management services for juvenile offenders placed under the court-ordered supervision of the county. This is a full-time position with full county benefits, and the selected candidate will be placed in one of four different levels of Juvenile Probation Officer based on their qualifications.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Typical Duties & ResponsibilitiesIncumbents in this position work in partnership with the courts to ensure juvenile offenders are compliant with the provisions of their probation requirements. They also work closely with law enforcement agencies and community stakeholders to act as advocates for at-risk youth, and to promote education and crime-prevention activities. Typical activities involve attending sentencing and other court hearings, conducting investigations to complete social histories and risk assessments, developing individual case plans, meeting regularly with juvenile clients and monitoring their activities, assisting clients with obtaining health and social services, and reporting back to the courts on their clients’ progress.
