Associate Pastor JOB DESCRIPTION
General Church Ministry. The executive is accountable for the management of all ministry and operational staff and operational functions.
This includes business operations and facilities oversight.
Specific Church Ministry. The executive will serve the congregation and staff through preaching, teaching, orientation, fellowship, encouragement, cooperation and prayer support.
He will also oversee the small group, newcomers, usher / greeter and men’s ministries, to include discipleship efforts. He will participate in home / hospital visitation, follow-up on absentees and do spiritual guidance, (not counseling ) as needed.
- Platform Ministry. The executive pastor will be scheduled on a limited basis for occasional preaching on an as needed and / or in the absence of the Senior Pastor.
- Outside Ministry. Part of the CCF vision is to touch community and that means a responsible participation in community ministry efforts, cooperation with other churches and striving to build bridging relationships in the community.
Cooperation with the ministerial alliance efforts and family life events is expected.
- Church Growth. Each staff member is expected to anticipate and plan for congregational growth, both numeric growth and individual spiritual maturity.
- Expenses. Expenses with receipts for the Ministry will be reimbursed. The executive also has a funded budget for discretionary ministry as well as budget line for specific titled ministries.
- Projects. The executive may be assigned projects that enhance the vision and growth of the church. Project reports will be provided for each endeavor.
Examples of such projects; Friend Day, days of prayer and fasting, ministry fair, retreats and seminars etc.
EXECUTIVE PASTOR QUALIFICATIONS
- The executive pastor will meet the Biblical requirement as outlined in 1 Timothy 3 : 2-7 and Titus 1 : 7-9
- A person who is Spirit-filled and who operates in the gifts of the Spirit.
- A person who has a Bachelors Degree in Theology or related field from an accredited institution is preferred.
- A person with a Business degree or business background is preferred. (Budgeting work)
- Someone with a Shepherd’s heart, full of compassion and a love for people.
