The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Ped - Infectious Disease, is seeking a Researcher II. The position will involve laboratory duties for research protocols involving COVID-19 and CMV.
General Responsibilities
Under minimal supervision:
- To set up and perform routine and established lab procedures in support of lab goals.
- To collect, enter and summarize data.
- To monitor results and report unusual outcomes.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs routine laboratory procedures.
- Receives, processes and assays samples.
- Organizes freezer and refrigerator inventory.
- Assists in maintenance of laboratory equipment and supplies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Hourly Salary Range $15.50 - $23.51
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- OR Associate's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience
- OR High School diploma or GED and four (4) years of related experience
Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

- Ability to communicate effectively.

- Comprehensive understanding of related scientific and clinical terminology
