About the Position
A Certified Flagger controls the flow of traffic to ensure the safety of the general traveling public and workers on a heavy civil construction project. This is a temporary position with the potential for full time work availability.

Education/Experience
Must have a valid Utah ATTSA flagging certification and be trained in the proper fundamentals of flagging, preferably with experience.

Responsibilities

• Know and follow all company, client and OSHA safety rules and company policies and procedures.
• Control flow of traffic with a slow/stop paddle and/or signal lights
• Help control the movement of motor vehicles through an active work zone
• Signaling directions used by flaggers shall conform to the manual
• Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned by supervisors.
• Be a team participant to help the crew produce measurable, positive performance while administering COP’s Core Values of SAFETY, EXCELLENCE, INTEGRITY, TEAMWORK, POSITIVE ATTITUDE & DEDICATION.

Qualifications

• Have a valid Utah ATTSA flagging certification (COP will assist with certification for the right candidate)
• Know and understand proper ATTSA flagging safety protocols
• Must have transportation to and from the flagging locations
• Display a willing attitude to learn from others and possess a strong sense of personal responsibility.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a fast paced, team environment.

Physical Requirements

• Meet all conditions of COP’s drug and alcohol testing requirements, including pass pre-employment and random drug screen and alcohol test.
• Able and willing to work extended hours and possible nights and weekends, as required.
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Able to work in all elements.
• Able to perform work wearing personal protective equipment. Including, but not limited to, the following: hard hat, ear plugs, safety glasses, task-applicable gloves, and rain gear.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
