Performs accounting functions related to general ledger, bank transactions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, inventory, and work orders to ensure quality financial standards are achieved at Beacon Broadband. Accounting and Financial Management 95%
1. Maintains accounting records, supporting ledgers, and general ledger; assists in preparation of financial statements; maintains internal accuracy and conformity with established accounting classifications; examines financial statements and transactions for completeness in conformity with established accounting policies, procedures, and classifications; reconciles bank accounts and cash accounts; posts entries to specified accounts and prepares journal entries.
2. Processes invoices, payment requests, and other accounts payable, ensuring all appropriate approvals have been received. Maintains records and prepares, processes and files annual 1099 reporting.
3. Processes invoices and monitors collection of billings for other accounts receivable invoices.
4. Processes purchases of all inventory, materials and other items needed to complete projects in a timely and efficient manner, including preparation and issuance of purchase orders, and reconciliation of items delivered and invoices received to the original purchase order.
5. Maintains accounts and records for inventory balances, including accounting for issuances, receipts, and regular physical counts, in accordance with policies and procedures.
6. Assists in accurate payroll processing and preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll functions and other payroll related reports.
7. Assists in the preparation and entry of journal entries, and other month-end close activities.
8. Analyze accruals and prepaid accounts on a regular basis, check for discrepancies and verify accuracy.
9. Assists in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
10. Assists in the preparation of quarterly and annual budgets.
Understands and applies industry accounting practices associated with the work order process, reviews monthly transactions for accuracy, monitors status of work orders for timely close outs, and interfaces with appropriate departments to ensure timely work order closures.
1. Develops and maintains a professional relationship with customers, vendors, auditors, bankers, and all levels of internal staff to support corporate systems and policies, procedures, and practices.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand, as necessary.
This is a full-time position, and typical work hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Occasional travel throughout the Beacon Broadband service territory. Occasional travel to training seminars and/or conferences.
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
2. Four years of accounting experience in similar field preferred.
3. Financial/bookkeeping experience required.
1. Strong MS Office Suite skills, with an emphasis on MS Excel.
2. Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics a plus.
3. Professional and ethical conduct.
4. Broadband and/or telecommunications industry experience a plus.
5. Valid Oregon driver’s license and insurability.
6. Reliable transportation for getting to work.
7. Must meet the requirements of pre-employment drug screening and comply with company drug and alcohol policy while employed.
