Our Opportunity:

Corenic is seeking an Estimator  for their Estimating/Pre-Con department. The Estimator gathers, calculates and compiles data for use in conceptual/bid proposal estimates, preparing routine estimates under general supervision. Maintains current, accurate information on prices from suppliers and contractors through direct contact and written materials, price lists, etc.

In this role, the candidate will carry out the following essential duties and key responsibilities:

  • Verify Scopes of Work from subcontractors and format Bids to fulfill all RFP requirements
  • Detailed scope and takeoff of construction documents.
  • Level Subcontractor bid proposals
  • Review Bid documents and create history of Prebid RFI’s
  • Prepare commercial interior construction budgets and new construction budgets
  • Analyze drawings and create subcontractor lists
  • Transmit Requests for Proposal RFPs to subcontractors; following up by phone and e-mail to ensure an adequate number of bids will be received
  • Research material specifications, pricing and other information
  • Participate in handoff of projects upon award and follow up with Project Team post handoff
  • Attend and report findings from pre-bid walkthroughs
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned

The ideal candidate will have the following experience, skills and qualifications:

  • Four-year degree or related experience in Construction Management or similar field and a minimum of 2 – 4 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong math skills
  • Ability to navigate specifications and plans
  • Proficiency in reviewing RFIs/RFPs
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments at once
  • Knowledge of the latest building codes and permit requirements per jurisdiction
  • Close attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Prior experience with Bluebeam and MS Office
