Lockheed Martin is Hiring a Defense Policy Analyst with Security Clearance Near Washington, DC

Job Number 662798BR Description:This position seeks an experienced defense policy analyst with practical arms control experience to the support the Department of Navy (DON) and the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program. The successful candidate will become a member of the Lockheed Martin Arms Control Evaluation (ACE) team. The primary responsibility will be to provide direct support to the DON's Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) Strategic Arms Control (SAC) office. Key duties include: • Lead and manage customer-focused support tasks and functions. • Serve as subject matter expert on strategic arms control. • Serve as customer liaison to other elements and field operations. • Identify strategic arms control issues affecting DON programs and facilities. • Coordinate treaty implementation and compliance requirements with operational and facility personnel. • Write and revise documents and procedures to ensure compliance with treaty-prescribed inspection requirements. • Support inspection readiness preparations on-site at government facilities and, as needed, provide treaty implementation and compliance support on-site during short-notice inspection activities. • Help develop a repository of strategic arms control implementation and compliance processes, procedures, guidance, and reference materials, including site specific implementation & compliance plans; a compendium of applicable directives, instructions, and guidance documents; verification aids; and documented training programs. • Attend arms control and strategic policy conferences, as requested by SSP, to support monitoring of evolving arms control/strategic environment and development of future DON policy.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree • Able to develop and maintain collaborative professional relationships. • Able to research, analyze, and synthesize information to provide useful results in a timely manner. • Able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. • Able to exercise sound reasoning and judgment in various professional contexts. • Exhibit high standards of ethical conduct and professional integrity. • Able to travel domestically on short notice. • Possess a DoD Secret security clearance.
Desired Skills:
• Master's degree in national security studies, defense and strategic studies, military science, international affairs, engineering, or law (juris doctorate degree). • Military experience. • Experience supporting the DON's sea-based strategic deterrent. • Experience serving as a U.S. National Escort and Inspector for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. • Experience working with DoD intra-departmental and Inter-agency national security policymaking processes. • Possess a DoD Top Secret security clearance.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
