Description

Amount of Travel: Estimated between 80% - 95% during peak seasons

About the Opportunity

Each year Copperhead Environmental Consulting expands our team with multiple Seasonal Wildlife Technicians from May – August, with the possibility to extend into the winter months. We are currently seeking candidates for the 2022 field season. Wildlife technicians will assist Copperhead professionals in the field on multiple types of projects but will be predominately involved in bat related projects. 

Responsibilities

  • Assist Copperhead professionals in the field with:
  • Data collection
  • Equipment transport and deployment
  • Conduct basic data analysis, literature and/or data searches, basic administrative duties (database updates)
  • Routine equipment maintenance and testing

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • 1 year experience or must be working towards or hold an Associate’s degree or higher 
  • Must be able to work outdoors, sometimes in extreme and undesirable conditions
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and carry heavy equipment long distances in rugged terrain
  • Previous field experience with bats, mist-netting, and/or acoustic monitoring preferred
  • Pre-exposure rabies vaccination preferred*
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license
