Job Summary To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Lead Mold Maker located in Buffalo Grove, IL Shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm M-F Reporting to the Tooling Manager. The Lead Mold Maker involves sketch-to-scale lead new tool build through the various shop departments. Assist with repair concerns required on molds. Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do: Plan sequence of operations for mold construction. Development models and parts for new equipment undergoing design. Read blueprints of the mold and plastic piece part and verify specifications. May work from blueprints, engineering, and quality specifications. Detail all additional work authorized by the Project Work Order. Comply with ISO:9001 standards. Maintenance of tool room equipment. Layout, machine, fit, assemble, and finish metal parts to make and repair injection molds. Works closely with engineering, tool designers, manufacturing, and manufacturing engineering personnel to exchange information or receive clarifications of the design specs or concepts to complete job assignments. Responsible for quality of work, maintain ongoing inspection of work pieces. Return all Controlled drawings to Engineering at project completion. Work with Design Engineering to assure the mold prints are "As Build". Fit all the mold components and verify proper tool function. Here is some of what you’ll need (required): 5 years experience in mold manufacturing experience Common hand tools and inspection gages General tooling equipment.
