Rail Management Services is Hiring a Yard Manager (FT) Near Olive Branch, MS
Pacific Rail Services is looking for an Experienced Manager for our Rossville, TN rail terminal in a recession-proof industry. Work Location:3000 Norfolk Southern Way, Rossville, TN Compensation: $40,000 / yr to start based on experience Summary/Objective:
The Manager is responsible for coordinating the intermodal operations, maintenance and associated administrative functions in order to meet customer standards and maximize profits. The manager is expected to be available to work all shifts as we run a 24/7/365 operation. Qualifications:
Valid Drivers License
Advanced knowledge of railroad industry from a vocational education institute, apprenticeship, on the job training and/or similar work experience.
Ability to assist in conflict resolution and mediation between co-workers, with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proven managerial skills to include ability as a strong leader and positive motivator, successful with employee trainings, good understanding of a Collective Bargaining Agreement, government regulations and industry standards.
Essential Responsibilities:
Responsible for assisting in the supervision of subordinate personnel to ensure that all work is accomplished in a consistent manner with organizational requirements.
Conduct employee training sessions on subjects such as hazardous material handling, employee orientations, quality improvements and computer usage.
Participate in union contract negotiations and settlements of grievances.
Collaborate with other managers and staff members in order to formulate and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
Monitor operations to ensure that staff members comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, union contracts, and government regulations.
Promote safe work activities by conducting safety audits, attending company safety meetings, and meeting with individual staff members.
Direct activities of staff performing repairs and maintenance to equipment, vehicles, and facilities.
Conduct investigations to determine causes of accidents and to improve safety procedures.
Analyze expenditures and other financial information in order to develop plans, policies, and budgets for increasing profits and improving services.
Set operations policies and standards, including determination of safety procedures.
All other duties as assigned.

Work environment:
Required job duties are performed in both an indoor climate-controlled environment and ambient outdoor environments, which would include varying conditions (rain, snow, ice, heat, wind, cold, etc.).
The position may also be required to travel throughout the yard and the transfer station either by walking or driving.
The noise level in work environment is occasional.
