Worship Leader

(Part-Time 10-12 hrs/week)

Purpose

The Worship Leader will lead weekend services at our campus in Holt, MI.

Job Description:

Chapel Pointe is prayerfully seeking a dynamic part-time Worship Leader to lead our Worship Arts ministry in a growing and healthy congregation focused on fulfilling its vision to be “Transformed followers of Jesus, passionately responding to God, rooted in prayer and the Bible, and equipping disciples.” Located in a western suburb of Grand Rapids, Michigan, the church is striving to minister to an ever-growing congregation of roughly 3,000 people per week. Leading weekend services and other ministry events, while pointing to the vision of Chapel Pointe at all times, is the heartbeat of this role.

Personal Qualifications 

• Maintain an authentic and growing walk with Jesus Christ through the ongoing spiritual disciplines of Bible reading, prayer, and personal worship
• Able to lead worship with excellence, both vocally and instrumentally (acoustic guitar preferred)
• Be teachable and approachable with strong skills in communication and collaboration
• Exhibit excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal relationship skills
• Motivated and passionate about sharing Jesus in your daily life

Primary Responsibilities 

• Plan campus worship services in conjunction with the Campus Pastor/Sunday service team and do so with prayer, conceptual forethought, theological accuracy, and musical appropriateness
• Ensure that all of the musical and technical aspects of the service advance the Kingdom and support the church’s vision and appropriate scriptural themes in collaboration with the Technical Director and Worship Pastor.
• Develop worship teams
• Steward and manage the worship department budget alongside the Worship Pastor with intentionality and integrity. 
• Attend staff meetings and key ministry meetings with other departments as needed
• Oversee and develop volunteers (recruitment, scheduling, rehearsals). Lead midweek band/vocal rehearsals musically and spiritually.
• Provide worship leadership for other ministry events as needed
• Provide technical support as needed and able
• Support and assist the Worship Arts Pastor in the overall vision of the ministry.
