NCTCOG is Hiring an Accountant (Hybrid) Near Arlington, TX

Job Description:

The North Central Texas Council of Governments is seeking an Accountant to join the Administration Department. This is an entry-level position with opportunities for career progression. The position is responsible for the overall accounting and management of grant Funds and budgets under multiple funding sources. This is accomplished by:

  • Overseeing and administering purchase requisitions
  • Processing accounts payable vouchers
  • Completing funding agency financial reports and billing statements to funding agencies
  • Reconciling the General Ledger accounts assigned or accounts specific to assigned grants
  • Reviewing requests for payments
  • Assisting in the completion of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report
  • Providing various support duties for the department

Desired Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Detail oriented, organized, and the ability to multi-task
  • Strong Interpersonal skills to work across the NCTCOG departments

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Up to one year of related experience

Compensation:

  • $42,000 - $53,000
  • FLSA - Non-Exempt (Hourly)

    • Paid vacation, sick leave, and personal days are provided as part of the benefit plan, as well as specified holidays. This position also includes a phone allowance.

    • NCTCOG participates in a defined contribution plan as an alternative to Social Security. The defined contribution retirement plan provides retirement benefits for all eligible employees. NCTCOG contributes twelve percent (12%) of permanent full-time employees' gross salaries. Participating employees contribute six percent (6%) of gross salary. An employee becomes forty percent (40%) vested in NCTCOG's contributions after three full years of employment. An additional fifteen percent {15%) is vested for each additional year of employment. An employee becomes fully vested after seven years of employment.
