Assembly Health is Hiring a Medical Coding Specialist Near Ashland, VA
This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Director of Coding.
What you'll do
- Code medical procedures or evaluation and management codes per CPT guidelines. Knowledge of urology and radiation oncology coding guidelines a plus.
- Code diagnosis per ICD 10 CM standards
- Append modifiers when necessary.
- Review CCI for multiple procedures
- Review LMRP and NCD for CPT codes
- Attend department meetings and other general staff meetings.
- Other tasks as needed.
- CPC Certification preferred.
- Basic knowledge of billing and insurance procedures.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer. Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 10 pounds at times.
