Sparta Education Foundation is Hiring a Fund Development Manager Near Sparta, MI

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fund Manager to join our team. This is a dynamic, active role that focuses on cultivating and sustaining meaningful relationships with donors while strategically managing and implementing fundraising efforts to advance the organization’s mission. The Fund Development Manager serves as a primary face of the Foundation to the community, and as such, participates in regular meetings and activities in Sparta, Michigan.

Responsibilities:
Fundraising and Fund Development

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan with measurable goals.
  • Cultivate relationships with individuals and businesses to plan and execute fundraising campaigns and events to increase donations from current benchmarks.
  • Identify and coordinate applications for grant funding.

Donor Engagement

  • Timely data entry of all donations into DonorPerfect including pledges, pledge payments, and in-kind donations. Generate receipts and thank you notes in email, letter, or note card formats.
  • Meet regularly and collaborate closely with the Donor Management Committee to implement donor engagement strategies and initiatives.

Administration

  • Perform ongoing database management tasks such as user management, training, data cleanup, template, and report creation.
  • Prepare monthly reports for the Board outlining key activities, fundraising levels, key performance indicators, and upcoming priorities.
  • Attend all SEF committee meetings to assist in integrating efforts and collaboration across committees and volunteers. Collaborate with the Treasurer and finance committee in budget preparation and monthly oversight.

Public Relations, Outreach, and Communications

  • Develop and manage the SEF website.
  • Coordinate the annual newsletter and annual appeal materials.
  • Liaison with community and business organizations, other foundations, and the public by attending events and promoting the SEF’s goals and programs.

Skills & Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree and three plus years in marketing, fundraising, or sales or a combination thereof. Direct mail experience is a plus.
- Nonprofit experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships
- Self-motivated, self-disciplined, and results oriented
- Skilled with spreadsheets, donor management software, word processing, and website platforms
- Grant writing experience to secure funding from various sources a plus
- Volunteer management skills to engage volunteers in fundraising efforts
