Maxon Shooter's Supplies & Indoor Range is Hiring a Firearms Sales Associate Near Des Plaines, IL
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide outstanding customer service to our customers by always greeting them in a friendly manner, and making them feel welcome
- Assist customers in making purchasing decisions based on identifying and evaluating their individual needs, and effectively closing sales
- Serve as Range Safety Officer (RSO) at times and ensure safety on the range by observing all users and respectfully, but immediately, stopping any actions that violate Maxon Shooter’s Supplies Range Safety Rules & Procedures
- Complete the sale of firearms legally and in compliance with ATF, state/local laws and regulations and Maxon Shooter’s Supplies policies. This includes:
- properly completing required ATF forms
- performing required background checks
- certifying and screening all potential firearm transfers for legality of sale
- complying with required documentation, and waiting periods
- Assist with ensuring merchandising standards are met throughout the store which may include, but is not limited to, restocking, range cleanliness, facing of merchandise, and light housekeeping
- Follow proper protocols for checking customers in to and out of the shooting range
- Report to the Sales Manager, and attend quarterly meetings
- HS diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of customer service experience preferred

- Previous firearm experience/knowledge
- Ability to understand, recall, and follow complex compliance regulations and work with highly confidential information
- Flexibility in work schedule needed to include potential evenings and weekends
- Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid Firearm Owner’s Identification Card (FOID)
- Extended periods of standing
- Lifting and/or pushing objects up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis
- Working on a ladder at heights of up to 10 feet
- $17.50 hourly or more
- Paid time off after 2000 hrs worked (approximately 1 year full-time)
