St. Elizabeth School in Wilmington, Delaware is a Diocesan school, inspired by the teachings of St. Benedict and rooted in Catholic faith. We foster spiritual development, academic excellence, responsibility to self, and service to others in grades Pre-K 3 through 12.

Job Description:

The preferred candidate should be a dynamic, committed educator who will foster critical thinking skills and deliver comprehensive Spanish language instruction to students in grades PreK3 to 8. Academic concepts include vocabulary (foundational), grammar, reading comprehension, written expression, and cultural history. In addition, the applicant should have familiarity with educational technologies for instruction and student learning, and a desire and commitment to participate in and strengthen the Catholic mission of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with National Language Standards.
• Utilize a variety of teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning abilities and styles.
• Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments and offer timely feedback to students and parents.
• Maintain open communication with students and parents regarding student progress.
• Participate in professional development and maintain certification in respective field of study.
• Promote and exhibit our core Catholic values to help strengthen the mission of the school.
• Collaborate with other faculty members to promote cross-curricular education.
• Create an inclusive environment in your classroom that is welcoming and positive to all students.
• Incorporate technology and hands-on learning opportunities for each class.

Qualifications:

• Possess a Bachelors or Masters degree in Spanish or Education
• Teaching certification or ability to achieve certification
• Previous teaching experience (preferred)
