Experienced Automotive Controller needed for stable new car dealership just outside of Boston, MA. The reason this position is available is because the current long-term Controller / Office Manager is retiring after several years with the dealership. This is with a stable, family-owned dealership and the Controller will report directly to the Dealer Principal. This is a great long-term opportunity to take over a clean set of books and have a true long-term "home" for several years to come. The successful candidate will have a proven track record as an Automotive Controller / Automotive Office Manager at a new car dealership and will have CDK experience. The Automotive Comptroller hired will oversee a team of 3 in their automotive accounting office. The Controller hired will be responsible for submitting the month end financial statement to the factory, reconciliations, reporting, expense analysis, assisting in audits, and analyzing and interpreting financial data among other tasks.
Responsibilities

• Help to oversee, maintain, and improve the financial well-being of the dealership
• Prepare timely and accurate financial statements; monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations and reporting including, but not limited to, intercompany transactions and balances and reporting to manufacturers.
• Maintain positive relationships and communication with the Dealer Principal
• Understand and maximize benefits from manufacturer incentive programs and payment structures, work with GMs to achieve results, and ensure the team is current on program rules.
• Analyze and interpret financial data and recommend changes to improve systems/processes for financial controls and performance.
• Monitor and analyze monthly operating expenditures against budget to identify expense and gross profit opportunities.
• Ensure all store transactions are processed timely, accurately, and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Complete monthly commission workbooks, have a strong understanding of individual pay plans and commissions.
• Review and analyze parts monthly/annual reconciliation.
• Maintain accounting schedules.
• Expense Analysis
• Assist in the annual budgeting process.
• Assist in audits (floor plan, sales tax, manufacturer) and year-end review.
• Internal controls – implement and ensure the store follows the internal control process.
• Work closely with other department managers to achieve store goals

• 5 day work week

Compensation

• Compensation package will be in $105,000 - $110,000 range depending on experience level and track record.
